Fortnite could be introducing a new way for players to level up faster, as Epic Games is reportedly testing XP Boosters in Fortnite Chapter 8 Season 1. The feature was highlighted by Fortnite leaker HypeX on X, revealing how the boosters could work and what players might expect from the upcoming system.
According to the information shared, XP Boosters would grant players bonus XP on top of the experience they normally earn while playing. If introduced, the feature could make progressing through the Battle Pass easier, especially for players who want to unlock rewards before the season ends.
However, these features are still being tested, and the values currently being used by Epic Games are not necessarily final.
How Do Fortnite XP Boosters Work?
The XP Booster system is being tested in Fortnite version 44.00, with several different bonus percentages currently appearing in the tests.
Rather than replacing the XP players already earn, these boosters would provide an additional percentage of bonus experience. The amount of extra XP would depend on the booster currently active.
Some boosters could also come with a time limit, meaning players would need to make the most of their bonus XP before it expires. Others could be restricted to specific game modes, with one of the reported test boosters working only in Solo Builds.
HypeX also shared details about how multiple boosters would interact with each other.
Boosters of the same type would not stack, meaning only the highest bonus would count. However, boosters of different types could be combined, allowing their bonuses to add together.
This could give players more opportunities to earn additional XP by combining different rewards, depending on the final rules Epic Games introduces.
Fortnite Is Testing XP Boosts Ranging From 5% to 400%
One of the most interesting details from HypeX’s post is the range of bonus XP percentages currently being tested.
The reported test values include:
- +5% bonus XP
- +10% bonus XP
- +15% bonus XP
- +30% bonus XP
- +65% bonus XP
- +400% bonus XP
The potential 400% XP Booster is particularly noteworthy, although it is important to remember that these are Epic Games’ test values rather than confirmed final rewards.
If a boost of that size were ever made available to players, it could significantly increase the XP earned during eligible gameplay. However, there is currently no confirmation that the highest test value will make it into the live game.
Fortnite Crew Could Receive an XP Boost System
The testing also appears to connect with a previously leaked Fortnite Crew XP Boost feature.
According to HypeX, the Crew XP Boost system uses the same mechanics as the newly reported XP Boosters. It is expected to include three bonus XP tiers: 5%, 10%, and 20%.
The tier a player receives would reportedly depend on how many months they have been subscribed to Fortnite Crew. The bonus would only remain active while their Crew membership is active.
If introduced, this could give long-term subscribers another benefit alongside the other rewards included with their membership.
It is not yet confirmed when the Crew XP Boost system will become available or whether its reported details will remain unchanged.
How Could Players Earn Fortnite XP Boosters?
Although Epic Games has not confirmed the final distribution method, HypeX suggests that XP Boosters could be offered through several parts of Fortnite.
Potential sources include:
- Fortnite Crew membership rewards
- Battle Pass rewards
- In-game quests
- Other progression-related rewards
Offering boosters through different activities could give players additional reasons to complete quests and progress through the game.
It could also make XP rewards more flexible, allowing Epic Games to offer smaller bonuses for regular activities and potentially larger boosts through special rewards.
When Will Fortnite XP Boosters Be Released?
For now, Fortnite XP Boosters remain a reported testing feature. The information shared by HypeX does not confirm an official release date, and Epic Games has not confirmed that all the tested percentages or mechanics will appear in the final version.
Players should also remember that features discovered during testing can change before they reach the live game.
We’ll have to wait for further information to find out whether XP Boosters will become a permanent part of Fortnite and how they will affect Battle Pass progression.
What do you think about Fortnite potentially introducing XP Boosters? Would you like to see bonuses of up to 400%, or do you think the current XP system works just fine? Let us know what you think!
