Fortnite leaker HYPEX shared the teaser news on X, suggesting that Wave 2 will include at least Metal Sonic and could be connected to Fortnitemares Part 2. While fans are excited about the possibility of more Sonic content arriving in Fortnite, further details about the collaboration have yet to be revealed.
Metal Sonic Teased for Fortnite Wave 2
Metal Sonic is one of Sonic the Hedgehog’s most recognisable rivals. Created by Dr. Eggman as a robotic counterpart to Sonic, the character is known for his metallic appearance, glowing red eyes and impressive speed.
A new teaser shown during SEGA’s Sonic Club Chaos livestream has fuelled speculation about his arrival in Fortnite. The brief clip features what appears to be Metal Sonic’s signature red eyes before ending with a “to be continued” message, hinting that more content could be on the way.
Although the teaser strongly points towards Metal Sonic, Epic Games has yet to reveal a full look at a potential Fortnite Outfit or confirm what other cosmetics could be included.
Could Sonic x Fortnite Wave 2 Arrive During Fortnitemares Part 2?
One of the biggest questions is when the next Sonic crossover content will arrive.
HYPEX suggested that the collaboration could be part of Fortnitemares Part 2, which would make Metal Sonic a fitting addition to Fortnite’s Halloween season. However, this timing remains speculative, and Epic Games has not officially confirmed a release date or connection to the seasonal event.
If the crossover expands, players will be eager to see whether Metal Sonic arrives alongside additional Sonic-themed cosmetics, accessories or other surprises.
